Still adding correct 1894 short rifles to my survey if you know of any……….. thx in advance.
Also, specifically looking for 20″ or shorter for my collection. Seems like I mainly find 22″ lately, the most prominent in the survey.

I had this one in the survey already but was missing the fore-end wood measurement. Looks like long wood, can you confirm 9 3/8″. Also, no mention of the 1/2 mag in the letter, any signs it once had a full mag? Possibly just missed when it was entered in the ledger. Interesting piece, for sure.

it is indeed 9 3/8″ bluing appears original. I can’t find any evidence of ever having a full mag. The finish appearance on the barrel is consistent all the way around forward of the forend and the finish on the end of the magazine is the same amount of wear as the end cap on the forend.
