I've been going thru my shop and gathering parts for Cody... There are parts for: 1873, 1876, 1890, 1892, 1894, Model 06, 64, 65, 69, 70... and a few others. Pretty much something for most everyone... If there's something specific

…criticism of nickel is that when it wears it is often unsightly. But it's not always unsightly.
Here's an example I was following. It's a M1876 that I found very desirable. It's a rifle with fancy (BEAUTIFUL) checkered wood, engraved by Ulrich, nickel trim and everything letters. There
…I reflect on this thread, I recall one family member - a great uncle - hunted with a 94 .30-30 carbine. I recall it replaced his M1876 .40-60 that he used for many years. I remember his .40-60. It was a round barrel that had been cut. I recall that was especially

It seems to me that research by Herbert Houze and Jim Gordon have given us newer information. For example, Madis says that for the Model 1876, "1 of each 14 guns had a set trigger." That's a little over 7% by my reckoning.
Looking at Houze's "Winchester Model 1876 Centennial Rifle"…
… book I read a total of 10,605 Model 1876's had a set trigger. With total production at 63,803 that is a little more than 16% of Model 1876's that had a set trigger. That is a big difference.
Thoughts?

I was 'for sure done' after I severely flattened my wallet to get my hands on an original NWMP Winchester 1876 SRC. Since then I've acquired a decent Winchester 1873 44 W.C.F. and a nice Winchester 1892 38 W.C.F. . I think I'm done now, but I still

…. Is this right? Thank you for your reply and I apologize for my ignorance where guns are concerned.
If these parts came from just four 1876's and eight 1886's somebody took them apart for a reason. Was it a gun law? Is that why the parts are in good shape? Can't you hire someone to put
