…trip. There is a small museum at the Little Bighorn battle site but walking the field is crucial to understanding the events of those days in July, 1876. There are a few shell casings in the museum but I don't remember enough about them. I only recall rifle/carbine casings for the Springfields and

…not unheard of.  I have a mint, unopened Winchester box in .40-60 WCF.  We all know the .40-60 cartridge was designed for the Winchester model 1876, but my box label reads "Adapted to the Winchester Model of '86 and Single shot Rifles".  No where on the box does it mention Model 1876.

Model 1876 for the survey, if not already there -

Serial # 58787

Type: Rifle

Caliber: 40-60 WCF

Barrel: Round, 28"

Trigger: Plain

Sights:…

… Front - #79 Rocky Mountain (silver blade), Rear - Sporting Leaf Sight 200-1000 yds (marked 1876). Sights not mentioned in factory letter.

Received in warehouse 12/8/1887

Shipped from warehouse 11/24/1890, Order #21901

Thanks,

Gus

…Model 1893 was/is a slide-action 12-guage shotgun.  Winchester manufactured two different rifle models in the 40-60 WCF cartridge... the Model 1876 and the Single Shot (a.k.a. Model 1885).  The reloading technique is different depending on which model rifle you actually have.

…HW SS; 45-60 WCF-30 in full oct-Shipped in 1886.}Mid-range Winchester Vernier sight.

Note-the 45-60 WCF was also a chambering in the 1876 Model.

Bert has this 1885 SN in his  1885 SS survey, as the 45-60 WCF was a relatively rarer chambering in this SS Model.

And they are sometimes marked “1876” as they were manufactured originally for the Model 1876 rifle.

…design of the primer itself, as we understand, here today.

The few Milbank primer cases that we're found at the site of the Custer Massacre in 1876, with possible failure regarding cartridge use, I thought we're due to the tapered design, in the Milbank primer cartridges.

I can’t say I blame you for wanting that Deluxe model 1876, in the picture, second down. I’ve never met a movie star, especially one that collects winchesters. Just that interaction would’ve been very

I also talked to Tom Sellek, about a possible sale, on the Deluxe model 1876, in the picture, second down, and left him my phone number, if he was interested, and never heard back from him, which was fine, as I've always

For the Model 1873 less than 150 of the 1of1000s were made and less than 10 of the 1of100s. And even fewer Model 1876s were made of each.
