Ok. The 30-30 is 1409389. It has the older checkered hammer. The 25-35 is 1442936. This one has the later hammer with the straight lines across it
S/N 1409389 is new entry for the survey. It was manufactured in early January 1947.
S/N 1442936 was already documented in the survey. It was manufactured in July 1947.
The current number of Flat-bands in the survey is now 2,431.

Very interesting… your Flat-band Carbine is earliest known serial number found with a Type 3 receiver frame! Based on the information I have recorded in the survey thus far, the Type 3 receiver frames were introduced very near serial number 1473000 (January 1948). Your serial number indicates that it was manufactured in August or September of 1947.
Can you please send me a pictures of the top of the receiver looking down on at the hammer and the magazine tube end cap?
