This is the actual case in question, I posted the wrong photo, but the result is the same….aint it!
C is reported to be a Milbank primed 44 WCF case from the bighorn battlefield. I will say it is not until someone proves me wrong….LOL,,,that’s the fastest way to get results!
Oh, and here are two more from the video. NOT Milbank primers, nor are they of the raised head design seen in several early boxes.
Now I remember why I do not post here much, what a a pain with image data
Brian This is what I get when trying to open your pics.
403. That’s an error.

Here are 2 pics of the O F Winchester primers in tins I got from Paul Morlans. These seem to have a rounded top but I’ve only seen flat top ones before? Go back to page 2 and look at Bob’s box. They are flat. I have 3 dissected Gardner primers that Lou Behling sent me and they look different. More to come I have a bad cold and no energy.
Here is what I have on primers

That makes sense. The Gardner primers Lou sent me have anvils just like the ones you show as the 1878 Gardners. So the Tins are the 1874 Winchester primers. I had heard some were rounded and some were flat but I never saw the rounded ones before.
As you can see I got a hold of a raised head cartridge. When I dissected it, it ended up being a handload. I was disappointed but not surprised when I saw the rounded head primer.

Is that on the forum or going to the website?
He’s talking about what is viewable on the forum.
If you’re posting website links, that is a different button. Than if you are uploading / attaching individual images.
So it appears you’re mixing up something when making your reply posts. As none of the “images” you talk about showing on your replies. If you are trying to do a web link, it should show up as a clickable hyperlink to said website.
So no one should be clicking on an image to try to go to a website.
What browser are you using to access the WACA Forum? As that may also have something to do with why your posts seem odd.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Correct, I have posted images and links to the website if the images can not be seen. two different items
The photos I am posting are on the website. The address used to get the photos to link to this forum are not working. The problem is this forum’s linking format to google sites pages….somthingornotherthigamajogdohikky
Then having to do the math for every post…LOL
WINCHESTER PRIMERS click here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jy0pGqWPRx2HOQqufbcnEM1lv6tCWBJsCOB8vLIDOIg/edit?gid=462843466#gid=462843466
I will add your photos to the collection
To fix your problem I would either post the web link. Or click the Upload Attachments button and add the image file there. Instead of trying to use the Insert/edit Image button.

That 1st tin looks like its got to be one of the earliest O.F. Winchester primer tins produced.
I wonder if in the process of loading the ammunition and seating the primer into the primer pocket. That if it in turn somewhat flattens out the primer.
I know that even today when I hand load ammo that when priming cases with my Lyman primer it slightly changes the look of it when its seated.

I agree as well. Here are two of my earliest cartridges that were dissected. Sample file, Cartridge #2 and #52.
I am also going to go back and edit/remove some posts to get rid of some confusion.
