Thanks Kevin.  I did see that auction.  Enjoy the rifle.  It is 100% original and unaltered.

Joel,

Can you please send me clear pictures of the front sight (side view), the upper tang marking, and possibly the barrel date stamp.

Hello Mark,

SN 655964 is a new rifle for my survey.  I did see SN 677916 back in 2020 when it was listed on GB out of Merrifield, MN.  Thanks so much for the help.

Hello,

After almost 12 years of doing this survey the original image hosting site which I had used has ceased to exist along with all of the images that were inserted into the original survey thread and had posted over on the Gunbroker “Ask The Experts” forum.  Therefore I have reconstructed it at the first posting in this long thread.  Hopefully this will aid in other collector to add their rifles into the survey so that it can result in even better data and meaningful results.  Thanks to everyone for their help.

Hi Michael, I’m wondering if you have the production numbers or the survey numbers for 1892 src’s in each caliber.

Hello Rick,

As of today I have cataloged 5,653 carbines and SRC’s that also have unaltered/original calibers.  From this data here is the breakdown:

29% are chambered in 25-20 WCF

20% are chambered in 32 WCF

14% are chambered in 38 WCF

37% are chambered in 44 WCF

Thank you Michael. I was told you don’t see the 38–40 SRC as often as the others and those numbers would confirm that. Appreciate your reply.

Frank,

I do not have that rifle in my data.  Please do send me some photos of the gun to [email protected]  Include all the stamped writing on the barrel and the upper tang.
