Not a clue. They don’t appear to be any kind of factory marking.
Sincerely,
Maverick

It seems I’ve seen this marking before. Is it a movie prop gun from the Western Costume Company out of Hollywood, CA?

Thanks Deerhunter and Maverick,
I really appreciate your responses. I had never considered that the last letter could be a O not a C but after closer examination it could be an angle struck O. That being said both options of Western Costume Company and Western Cartridge Company are possibilities. I will have to do some further investigation.
I saw that Bert made a comment in one of the earlier posts that most of the rifles purchased by the Western Cartridge Company were single shots. I wonder if he has any pictures of their confirmed markings for comparison?
Thanks again for your help. If only the guns could talk, right?
Glenn
