Thanks for the story about Col. Brophy, Henry. After your above post I recalled how much I enjoyed his book. I think he’s a little like Madis in that both seemed to have an incredible mind for details. Brophy’s knowledge of all the comings and goings at Marlin and all the corporate evolutions is very impressive. His account makes it easier to understand how firearms manufacturers operated in the early days. Those were some very interesting times!
