How about one more sir, Ser# 6328065, 94AE chambered in .357 Mag. Cross bolt safety. Approximate manufacture date and let’s just say 8/10 condition. See these on Gunbroker starting around $1100. Well above what I gave. Love this shooter and it sits in the stable with a 1910/94 32 Win spl, 1971/94 30-30 and a 1982/94AE pre cross bolt. Also a Marlin 336xlr SS 30-30 in Grey Laminate resides in the stable. They all get along with each other. WinkSmile

Hello Bruce,

The approximate manufacture date is mid-year 1999.

The sky-high asking prices are not a true indicator of the actual value.  I recommend that you only look at the Sold listings to determine what they are actually selling for.  Many sellers put unrealistic prices on their guns in the hopes that an uneducated/unknowing buyer comes along (and it happens all too frequently).  A late production Model 94AE with a cross-bolt safety in 80% condition is at best a $500 gun.

What is the serial number on your 32 Win Spl ? Is it a Rifle or a Saddle Ring Carbine (SRC)?

As the marking on the barrel suggests, your Model 94AE was manufactured to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Model 1894. Accordingly, it was manufactured in late 1993 or early 1994.

I have a winchester m94ae .356. I’m not sure of the value of this rifle but more importantly is there a way to order ammo for this rifle? It has a sn starting with 602 so I’m assuming between 92-94 manufacturer date. It does have a weird safety at the hammer. My email is [email protected] if anyone has info and I don’t see an update here. Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt that anyone is making new .356 Winchester ammo.  Your best bet is to scour the internet to find someone that has a box or two that has been stashed away, or listed in an upcoming auction.  If you really want it, be prepared to pay a ridiculous price for it.

Jon, you might have to take up reloading. I have the .307 in the ’94ae and ammo is really hard to find for it too, so now i just load for it and don’t have a problem with ammo now.Smile

I believe the 356 is a semi rimmed case but all other measurements of the case appear to be like a 307.  The 307 is a rimmed case. The 356 uses a .358″ bullet.  The 356 is very similar to the 308 but again, the rim is different.  The 308 does not have enough rim diameter.  I will look in some other old manuals I have and see if I can come up with some conversion info.

I sent you an email message with a link to an auction that has (4) full boxes of .356 Win ammo.

Hi Bert,

It seems that you have a great deal of knowledge on Winchester 94’s.  I have a 94AE, 30-30, from the late 1980’s.  I am looking to trade it and am curious about it’s value.  It was my first deer rifle but it just sits in the safe now.  I am trying to attach a picture, but am not having any success.  It does have a minor scratch on the receiver, but otherwise in great shape.  Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

As a Guest on the WACA website you do not have the requisite access credentials to directly post pictures.  We do that to prevent the Spammers from inundating our website with crap.

I suspect it was a 1996 production gun, but it could have been late 1995.
