Bert, I have Serial #1481989 (Model 64) and 1430342 (Model 94).
Do you have these in your survey?
Paul

I do not have your Model 64 rifle….
caliber?
variation?

Bert, the Model 64 is 32 WS. I think it is a standard rifle. I’ll get it out of the safe and send details later this week.

Thanks for the update.  Winchester was fairly busy cranking out Model 64 rifles in that serial range, most of which were 32 WS caliber.  Below is a snap-shot of my survey file for the serial range 1481600 – 1482600 (with your rifle included).

What is the barrel length on s/n 429350? Full mag?  Forend stock length?  Butt type?

Barrel & mag length for s/n 426661?  I-pattern checkering?  Butt type?

I misspoke, it is s/n 426662 that I have in the survey, and it is also a semi-deluxe rifle, but is 32 W.S.

I have it documented as a standard Take Down rifle, caliber 30 WCF, 26″ round barrel, ½ mag, crescent butt, and with a Lyman No. 21 receiver peep sight.

Thanks… it is # 993 logged into the survey thus far this year, and it brings my total to 29,775 Model 1894 (94) guns surveyed.

Bert,

Here’s another one that you might already have, as most it was well used, and pretty much looks like abused put away wet! Mfg in 1908, not 1907 as the listing suggests!

It too is a new entry.  That old SRC apparently spent most of its life on the Oregon coast (hunting Blacktail deer).

Just stumbled on this site while researching my 94 – what a great resource with awesome historical info! Thank you for compiling all of this, I’ve enjoyed reading all the replies.

I have 1330940, 30 WCF, checkered buttplate. The barrel is stamped 42 and the receiver 40. Near the front, where the mag tube meets receiver, it appears to be stamped with a “D” and an “A” or arrow – it’s hard to tell. Bought new by my great-grandfather, it is still chasing blacktails in Lewis County, WA!

I suspect that you have one of the Canadian PCMR Carbines.  The marking you are describing is most likely the Canadian Broad Arrow that looks like this;

1335237-Receiver-marking.JPG

The serial number identifies it as an April 1942 production Model 94, and it is right in the middle of the known serial numnber range for the 2,500 Winchester carbines purchased by the Canadian government and shipped to British Columbia during WW II.

If you can do so, please send me a picture of the marking on your Carbine
