I came to the realization that a separate Topic was in order for the Model 1894 and as such, I have created this post.
As many of you already now, I have been researching and surveying the Model 1894 production for the past 19+ years. My focus has been on two specific serial number ranges; 354000 – 1079689 (May 13th, 1907 – December 31st, 1931), and 1079690 – 2600011 (January 1st 1932 – April 29th, 1963). To this date, I have documented 10,151 specimens in the 1st serial range, and 16,232 in the 2nd serial range. The reason for the split surveys is the fact that there are approximately 75,000 Model 55 and Model 64 rifles that are mixed inside of the 2nd serial number range (for which I have separate surveys).
I am including a set of tables below (from the 1st serial number range survey only) to show all interested readers an example of the information that I have compiled thus far. I have additional tables created in the survey that provide detailed observed statistics for many other features. If there is a specific interest in seeing that information, I can provide it in future posts.
The attached tables should be self-explanatory, but all questions are welcomed.

Bert that is great information. Do you have any breakdown on plain pistol grip rifles or carbines?
By “plain pistol grip”, are you asking about those with no checkering, or just those with plain walnut?
In the first production table that has all the variations listed, the Rifles and Carbines with “Semi-Dlx” in the description are plain pistol gripped guns (some with checkering, some without).

Terry,
Your Model 94 was manufactured in March of the year 1938. As such, it is a Sporting Carbine with a 20-inch barrel.

Ed,
Can you post (or send me) pictures of s/n 650336? Is the magazine tube end cap flat or rounded? Is it a true button mag or does it extend out past the forend nose cap? What is the precise distance from the muzzle face to the bottom forwardmost edge of the sight dovetail slot?

Bert, I hope the pics will answer your questions. The measurement from the muzzle to the forward edge of the bottom of the dove tail is 16 3/16.
Ed
It is a factory original “button mag” (1/2 mag).
The measurement I was asking about was from the muzzle face to the bottom forward edge of the front sight dovetail. Your measurement appears to be the distance from the muzzles to the rear sight dovetail.
