Thanks, but it is not in my survey range.  My survey covers serial numbers 1 – 7999 and 354000 – 2600011.

That is one that I had already documented.  Winchester made a significant sized batch of 25-35 WIN. Model 94s in that serial range.  This is a list of those that I have surveyed to this point;

It’s in rough shape, but the bore is great. Looks like it sat in a closet for a while. When did it come up?

I have no idea… I do not record that information in my Model 94 survey (way too many guns to track).

Hi Bert,

Haven’t been on the forum in a long while. Picked up an 1894 saddle ring carbine for your survey. It a .38/55, half magazine, larger style shotgun butt, hard rubber buttplate.  Serial number 308788. May not be recorded yet.

Bert,

I was able to get these pictures from an older gentleman in Arizona, for the survey. Looks like an honest M-94, rifle in .30 WCF Caliber. Mfg in 1826. It’s nice as he still shoots and hunts with it. I like the Nickle Steel barrel!

Hello Bert,

I’ve sent you a few things in the past, this gun doesn’t fit into the parameters of this thread, but I couldn’t find a general 1894 one.

This gun is an earlier one, sn 37800, 38-55, 28″ hex, full length tube, crescent butt plate rifle. I’m not sure what else is important, let me know what else you need.

Bert 611020 was actually 311020 so not in the range you need

1389072 is a 30WCF with a 24 inch barrel

1789753 is a 30-30 with a 24 inch barrel

Both are Engraved. The wood appears to be deluxe and is checkered. Let me know if you need anything else. thanks

Something is not correct… 24-inch barrels were discontinued well before serial number 1389072 was manufactured.  The barrel length should be 20-inchs.

Hi Bert,

One of these is correct. I’ll let you decide…

1. April Fools

2. Congrats, You passed the test! The WACA Board just wanted me to make sure you weren’t slipping as the official Historian 🙂

3. I screwed up and you are correct they are both 20 inch!

Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the holiday and hopefully great shooting weather for everyone!

Hello to all,

Just want to provide an FYI update… today I reached the 35,000 guns surveyed mark in this survey! I have been working on this survey for just over 21-consecutuve years now, and I am planning to continue it for at least 5 more years, or until I reach 50,000 surveyed specimens.

At this point, I especially want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has contributed to this survey thus far, and to encourage more of you to do so in the future.

As a result of all the data that has been compiled & documented thus far in this survey (which includes all of the Model 55 and Model 64 Rifles that were serialized in the Model 94 serial range), many new facts have emerged, several urban myths debunked, and of great importance, a much, much clearer picture of the factory production statistics for the 2,246,012 serial numbers for which there are No surviving factory ledger records now exists.

As always, I am ready to answer any questions relating to this survey.
