I’ll have to watch the movie again, as I don’t recall any such scene, but I believe you. For what its worth, I did stumble across an old press photo of some kind of shooting that happened at the Winchester Club Building on Henry Street in New Haven, Ct. The building was a factory building used by the employees for recreation type activities. But this took place in 1966.

The photo was posted for sale on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/LG735-1966-Wire-Photo-WINCHESTER-CLUB-SHOOTING-Crime-Scene-Crowd-New-Haven-CT-/184040598675?nma=true&si=Bb7dXOWb%252Baq5pIfrWFZzZcHM8Bg%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Don’t know much details, other than what is typed at the top of the photo. But hey, it was the turbulent 1960s!

Sincerely,

Maverick

I have now.  I put the calendar up a few weeks ago and did not pay attention to the picture.  I have seen a lot of Stembridge movie guns and a quite a few are messed up too.  These guns are usually marked with a “S”.  Not to say this is one of them.  There were a few prop houses that were used in the industry.  But the box of ammo on the calendar is a Stembridge box.

I am the owner of the HOMBRE Winchester. It was a 20th Century Fox gun and is stamped “20TH FOX.20th-Fox-Closeup-2-copy-2.jpegImage Enlarger” It was sold on auction to Peter Sherayko (Texas Jack Vermillion in the 1993 movie, TOMBSTONE) in the 1980s. I bought the box of Stembridge blanks from a friend in my local black powder shooter’s club.

Sorry about the off-topic, but I thought it would be better here than in tech.  The foregoing post by Ronald Clayton scrolls off my screen to the right where I can read all of it.  Is it my computer, or?

Thanks for the update Ronald.  I have a 1905 45 ACP that is marked Fox Studios.  I have contacted them so many times I just gave up. No one wants to help when it comes to firearms history. You are lucky to know at least one movie your gun was used for.
