I recently purchased a Winchester model 94 made in 1977. It has a case hardened receiver. I was wondering if anyone could shine some light on to if this was a special edition or what? It looks very sharp but I don’t see many like it. Serial # 4562340. Thanks for any help
Bob Renneberg’s update to his 94 book discusses these. You can see the link to his eBook on the WACA Home Page.

It does sound like the antique model. I had a new in box one. They had a gold plated loading gate and gold plated saddle ring stud and ring. And basic scroll work on each side of the receiver. Does that sound like yours? They are a nice looking 94.
The Chief Crazy Horse commemorative also had a case hardened finish.
