Larry,

Most people are just finding out that the forums are back up and running (with the new software).

We all Went on Vacation!!!

Not to offend anyone But!

I’m already seeing a few things I don’t like with the new forum Format.

Evidently I can’t put links in my comments?

I know this is somewhat trivial but I kinda miss my mood icons / smiley faces.

Also missing my highlighted new topics, granted I understand it popups at the bottom anyway telling me whats new.

I guess I’m just a creature of Habit.

Sincerely,

Maverick

P.S. I guess I’m not good at math either!

They are just like me. They were using the old link to the forum which still gives you the message that the forum is down. On a whim I accessed the forum through the front door and here I am.

Same thing here and got on this new forum last night.

Like being able to upload an image right to the forum rather than using photobucket, etc.

Any customization available to alter the all white background?

One way you might alter the white background is by using smoke. Try pouring napalm on your saddle, set it a blaze and use the resultant smoke to smudge the background. Mongo might be a good choice for an assistant in this endeavor that “brooks” all form of rhyme and reason.

Yes, very nice we don’t have to use photobucket, etc, anymore, but I really do prefer the old backdrop better too.  Find this white very harsh.  Old site was much more ascetically pleasing.  Not to sound like a whiner though, I know a pile of work has gone into this.

Yes Maverick, we are all creatures of habit.  More so, the older we get!

That’s exactly what I was trying to say Matt.  Hard on the eyes.  Sorry to double down on the whining as I’m sure a lot of work is going into this.

This listing of most recent posts at the bottom of the main page was also a good idea.

Having a hard time figuring out how to post a photo and apparently can’t post links either.  Was able to post the avatar photo no problem however.

Matt,

I see you can change the order of the posts in your preferences. I changed mine to newest on top so I don’t have to scroll to the bottom on long threads. I hope they figure out the photo posting soon.

Fellows,

To the best of my knowledge, there is no problem with being able to post pictures. Under the left corner of the message box you should see “Upload Attachments”. Click it and then in the bottom left corner of the “Select Files” window, click the “Add Files” option. and then browse to the location on your PC where your picture is stored. Click on it, then click “Open”. Your picture will then be listed in the  Select Files box under the “Filename”. The next step is to click the “Start Upload”, and after it has finished uploading, click the “Submit Reply”

I don’t have an upload attachments under the left corner of the message box.  There is a “p” by itself at the bottom of the box that apparently selects all the text I’ve just typed.  Below that is “Options”, “Subscribe to this topic” and “Watch this topic”, then “This topic has subscriptions” and then the math problem at the bottom.

On the top of the message box is an insert/edit image.  There is no option to upload there that I can see.  I tried using it but can’t figure it out.

Also this is what it looks like under the profile\edit signature box from my view:

Signature Image Size Limits (pixels): width – none specified, height – none specified

If you reset your signature, be sure to save it

Preview of Your Signature (update to see changes):

There is not an upload function box like there is under profile\edit avatar.  I can’t see any way to upload an image here either.

Maybe I’m missing something.  Hope that helps.

Brad

Brad,

What browser are you using? It could be a issue with that. I have Firefox 26.0 I will try a different browser.

I use windows 7 and insert/edit image is there. it is the third button from the right in the line that starts with the word paragraph. oh you need to go to add topic or add reply. also there is a upload attachments under the p on the bottom left.

I do not have the “upload attachments” under the p on the bottom left.  I also use Windows 7 (best operating system I’ve had so far).

Have you tried the insert image function third from the right on the top?  I’d seriously like to know how it works.

I’m also “not allowed to put links in post content” which is not good.

I use google chrome because for me it’s much faster in several functions than firefox.  I just tried replying while using firefox also and it didn’t look any different than with chrome.  No upload functions around the add reply box.

Thanks,

Brad

Larry,

Check your Permissions in your Profile and see if you have a green check mark or a red X in any of the forums at the bottom under “Uploading”. I only have one green check mark for uploading a avatar.
