I don’t post much and I’m not really a collector but I do like to find an occasional shooter just for my own enjoyment. I ran across this ad in Texas Gun Trader this morning. It’s apparently a scam as nothing matches up or makes any sense. The listing says model 92, the pic of the tang says 1892, but the listing claims it’s chambered in “30/30” and the supposed “original manuel, receipt and tag from 8-9-1917” (misspelling was in the ad) clearly says Model 94 with a S/N of 2252788, which would be impossible for an 1892 if I’m reading the information on this site correctly. The guy claims to be in N Fort Worth. Am I missing anything?

I'm more of a shooter than a collector, but I do have a few collectibles.

They probably just don’t know much about guns. The tags aren’t for the 92 but a 94. They also don’t know that the 92 has been terribly been re-done and not original as listed.
Sincerely,
Maverick
