To All,
I’m currently trying to track down various editions of the Gun Report Magazine. I never was a subscriber when it was up and running, just picked up an edition here or there. I recently got a copy of there Index dated from 1955 to May, 1990.
My question is, Does anyone have the rest of the Index from May 1990 to 2011 when they went out of business?
Also I’m wondering if anyone has tried digitizing these?
Sincerely,
Maverick

Maverick,
I’m in the process of collection all of them too. I got most every issue up to about 2007 except 2 issues. I bought all of mine on Ebay and I could buy whole years for about $15 but lately they think they are worth more. I have never seen any newer ones beyond 2007 for sale yet. I have a bunch of duplicates I would let go.
Bob

Hi, I am looking for the Gun Report master index, csan’t find anything on the Internet. Can someone please send me a link and/or digitized information? Thanks all, Steve Hessel [email protected]
It would be nice if they were digitized. I have most of the issues from 1955 through the 1970’s. There is a wealth of information in them.

I have a copy of the index from June 1955 – May 1990, I need the rest of the index from 1990 – 2011. If someone could get me the rest of the Index I would appreciate it.
When I get time I’ll get around to digitizing the Index I have, but at the moment I got to many projects going on.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Hi everyone,
I am in search of a copy (or even a xerox/or pdf) of a Gun Report magazine article. My father, Eugene L. Lyon wrote several extensively in the 70s and 80s for Gun Report and several other publications. My dad passed away in 2018 and my mom is trying to find all his articles. The one we cannot find was a cover article about Guns and the Church… but I do not know the exact title or pub date.
If anyone out there has a copy and would be willing to photograph it (or sell it) I would be quite appreciative.
Please feel free to contact me directly…

Hello Frank, I would be honored to be the next caretaker of your collection of The Gun Report Magazines. I have a complete collection of the Double Gun Journal, and was looking to acquire a complete collection of the Gun Report to add to my library, when I came upon your posting. Please give me a call when you have time at (949) 302-7916 to make arrangements. Thank you, Steve

Steve, Do you have room for my collection of the Rifle from ’69 (the beginning) to ’94, about the time it degenerated into a news-stand mag? (All in Rifle binders.) Reading that mag while Neal Knox was ed. was the high point of the month for me until Neal was replaced by Wolfe’s incompetent son-in-law & it went from subscription only to the grocery store.
Well if anyone wants theirs digitized, I’m looking into doing it. It might take some time to get it accomplished. The Way Back Machine website is doing this sort of thing.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Clarence, I would be honored to make room for a collection of Rifle. It was a quality periodical during those years. Can I assume that 1969-1994, published 6 times a year, would make up a total of ~150 issues? How many binders do you have (25 or something less?) ? Where in New York are you located?
Thank you, Steve

Jeez, so long since I’ve looked at them I’d forgotten they were bimonthly. No wonder receiving each issue was such a great event. They are comparable in technical excellence to the Am Rifleman before WWII, after which it became the mass-market pub. it is today. (Not that greatly increased NRA membership wasn’t a good thing, but with it came compromises.) Each binder held 2 yrs, so 13. I’m situated, unfortunately, in the Deep Freeze of NYS, 10 m. from Lake Placid.

Clarence, I grew up in Hamburg New York (just south of Buffalo) so I am familiar with the weather! 80 inches of snow a couple of weeks ago was epic. Reminded me of the Blizzard of ’77. 13 binders is not too bad. Do you think they would fit in 1 box for shipping, or would it be better to ship in 2 boxes due to the weight, and may have to double box? Thank you, Steve

Probably 2 boxes would be better, considering the slamming around they’d get in transit. Incredible to me people could be PAID to live in Hamburg & that vicinity! Whole area should be declared a disaster zone & evacuated. Here, “only” about 18″ since Friday & it’s KILLING me!

Too funny! Its a beautiful place to grow up. Are they 1″ or 2″ binders? Just trying to reserve space for them in my library. Are you willing and able to box and ship? I will pay for the shipping and handling.
