Offlinesteve004 said I sometimes forget to look at the date of the posts. This explains why I couldn’t find the listing!
I think there should be an expiration date on responding to (but not reading) such old posts. If there’s some statement you wish to discuss, cut & paste it into a new post of your own creation to make it obvious that it’s not current.

Hi,
The Winchester that I was referring to is an 1886 Carbine in 50 ex. GI 100720670
Walter
Is it still listed? I couldn’t find it.
That isn’t but the other link still works for me. https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/rifles/winchester-rifles-model-1886/antique-winchester-1886-take-down-in-50-express.cfm?gun_id=100721372
Which was the one I was responding to in my most recent post.
Sincerely,
Maverick

I personally don’t see the issue with updating an old post, especially if it has merit to discussing it. Otherwise why keep any old posts at all?
I’ve got a post that was started in 2015 that still gets updated fairly regularly and am most appreciated that it does.
Sincerely,
Maverick

I’m ok with the old posts reappearing. I just need to beef up my mental alertness

Here’s the link Winchester Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine SRC in 50/110 with Factory Letter (gunsinternational.com)
It does letter as a .50 carbine and it is antique production. Those are the positives. I also note that he does not state the case color finish is original.

It’s a very nice carbine, most seen very hard use! and put to bed wet. Look at the wood at tangs, tight and sharp, used little and stored improper, getting oxidation. I would be happy to give it a home!

The fine pitting on the barrel and the top of the bolt certainly supports the improper storage idea.
