Hello,

It is not a true “first year” production Model 1894. S/N 3596 was manufactured in March, 1895. Which caliber is it? Is it a 1st variation receiver frame?

It’s a 32-40. Not sure of the receiver frame. My knowledge of the firearm is primitive compared to yours. What characteristics should I look for?

The caliber tells me that it is a 2nd variation receiver frame.  Is it a standard Sporting Rifle with a 26-inch octagon barrel?  Can you send me some pictures of it?

Hello Bert. I hope the images I sent were useful for your project. Thanks for the info on my particular rifle. I hope your search for other serial numbers goes well. I’ll be on the look out for your findings.
