Was curious to know if anyone knows date wise when Winchester started using there signature slanted Winchester logo and Red "W" brand and/or the phrase "The Red W Brand".
I believe I have seen early envelopes, factory letters and other advertising dated as Early as 1910. But was wondering when for certain this came about. Also I believe the 1910 dated envelope merely uses "The Red W Brand" type phrase and the word Winchester is merely bold and not slanted.
Any info or thoughts on this topic would be most appreciated. Of course looking for hard proof and not merely here say.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Anybody got a clue of whom might know such information or am I traveling down a road unfamiliar to most, if any?
I actually looked at my limited research further and found a 1908 letter using such type logoing / branding.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
Maverick

I did spend some time looking through the One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge Boxes book looking for the same thing once. Maybe you have already done that, but if I remember right it seemed like 1910 or 1911 on those box labels too. I’d probably have to look again to be certain.
Hope that helps.
*Edit: looks like page 175 would help you if you have the book, at least for use of the red W and italicized font on some of the ammo boxes.
