Antique Winchester reverse painted, inlaid with abalone, advertising mirror made for the 1893 Columbian Worlds expo by Lewis Comfort Tiffany. 99.9 percent of Winchester collectors are unaware that this mirror exists.  There were only two Winchester rifles embellished and displayed by Tiffany for the 1893 expo. Tiffany did not offer Winchester rifles in there sales catalogs. This mirror was the advertising to help publicize the relationship between the two companies.

I guess the $1,500,999 price increase isn’t enough to procure the services of RIA, Christie’s, Southby’s, etc. Let’s go with EBay at $3,000,999.

He originally posted it for sale for 1.5 million and then apparently upon reflection decided it was priced too low and doubled the price a week later

I see what you did there…Laugh

I don’t know if ai can be trusted but it says this mirror was made in the 1970s and has a value of $130-200.

Yes, and AI seems to have the data to back it up. Pure fantasy, certainly not “one of one”.

Of course, for only a third of the asking price. I hope you didn’t pay over $200 for it. Do a quick AI search of the image as I and sb did.

What makes you think it’s worth $3,000,999?  Three million can still get you A LOT!

To be honest with you, your mirror was manufactured about 40 or 50 years ago, something you see at a flea market for $75, you negotiate to $50 and still question if you didn’t get burned on the deal.

There’s an almost identical one to yours on eBay now for $345 which hasn’t sold because it’s priced at 5 to 10 times what it is worth.

Can you not see a difference between the mirror with a maroon W and maroon forearm and stock compared to the original mirror with an ablone  stock and forearm and letters W???

Of course Mike if you search for the 1970s remake you will definitely find that they are easily found on the Internet.  if Tiffany only made a total of two embellished Winchester rifles for display at the 1893 Expo how many advertising mirrors would they have made to promote the rifles?
