Hey Burt are you still cataloging win 64s? Just scored myself a “deer rifle”. 2129403 in 30-30. Think it’s a 56. Just missing the sight hood and a bit of blue.
Yes, I am still surveying the Model 64s.
Based on the serial number, your Model 64 Deer Rifle was manufactured in the year 1955. Accordingly, Winchester would have installed a Lyman No. 66A receiver sight it ordered with a peep sight. Additionally, Winchester was in the process of discontinuing the composite material pistol grip caps (with the Winchester log molded on them) to the blued steel grip caps. Can you please verify which sight is on your rifle, and which pistol grip cap type that it has.

It has standard sights with no sign of a peeper being mounted and has the composite cap. Hope this helps.
