Winchester 1895 marked FAURE LE PAGE A PARIS on the barrel

The rifle is a 405 with a 21 3/4 barrel. It has a sling stud on the underside of the barrel just ahead of the fore end. What does the marking FAURE LE PAGE A PARIS mean? Made in 1909.

I have no idea what that marking is or what it means, but if the barrel is actually just 21.75 inches long, it has been cut-down.

FAURE-LE PAGE was a arquebusier and furbisher of very great reputation. They were installed in Paris 1st, with the n° 8 of the Street of Richelieu of 1865 to 1913.
This trade still existed till 1990.
Mr. Fauré had joined Henri Lepage, arquebusier who specialized in the production of weapons which were rather closer to works of art, of with splendid boxes of of duel pistols and very exceptional shotguns intended for very fortunate customers…

This signature, with it only, is a pledge of quality and moreover more been worth.

The weapons carrying the signature of Lepage or Fauré-Lepage are in France the equivalent of Holland and Holland in Great Britain.
