Bert, three more for your survey.

All three are SRC’s with 20″ bbls.

#934193, 30WCF, carbine sights

#956985, 32WS, with 32WS marked sight

#921263, 30WCF, carbine sights

#921263 – October 1920, does it have Gumwood or Walnut stocks?

#934193 – November 1921, same question, Gumwood or Walnut stocks?

#956985 – April 1923, same question, Gumwood or Walnut stocks? I will assume that you are referring to the Special Smokeless sight?

I believe they all had Walnut stocks.  All the stocks were dark, if that is any indication!

#956985, yes the special smokeless marked rear sight.

Hello Bert,

I apoligize for not getting back to you oh the above 1894 rifles.  By the time I got back to the gun shop that had the rifles two were gone the remaining one was Gum wood.

I have another that fits in your spectrum for the 1894 rifles.

1894

#585137

Flush mag tube

Long fore stock

30 WCF

I am not sure about the bbl length, 24″ or 26″

Trap door in the butt.

Is this a standard Sporting rifle?

26″ round barrel, full length mag, crescent butt ?

Standard length was 26″.  Did it have a round or an octagon barrel?

Round bbl.  I did write down 26″ for the bbl but didn’t measure it.

I am sorry you have to pull this info out of me, I will have to come up with some sort of check off list to carry when I visit gun shops!

Bert, at this pms gun show 1894 on tang, model 94 on barrel. SN  752597. 1/2 mag take-down. Asking $1700. Also, mode4l 1894 1/2 mag SN 710645. That is all I can tell you.

It does not do me much good.  The rifle with “1894” on the tang and “94” on the barrel is not factory original (replaced barrel).

Bert, I know but thought WACA members should know about this and that the SN could be used for future reference. Don

Hello,

New to the forum. I just purchased a Winchester model 1894 in 30 WCF. It has a half round half octagon barrel that measures 26 inches. It also has three leaf express sites a crescent butt plate and a button mag. The serial number is 395995. Any information would be greatly appreciated and I hope this helps your survey.

I had this rifle previously documented in the survey.  Per the factory records, it was manufactured in May 1908.

Just out of curiosity is it all original? The barrel has quite a bit more bluing than the rest of the metal parts. Thanks.

You will need to post (or send me) clear pictures of the rifle.  I do not remember what it specifically looked like, and my research survey records just note the physical statistical information (i.e. barrel length, barrel contour, variation, magazine length, stock configuration, etc.).
