It’s the checkering just ahead of the guard. My only objection: not “ugly,” but just not a traditional pattern. Unless it was done for someone shooting offhand in the left elbow on left hip position, which I don’t think was common practice among 52 shooters. If not for this redundant checkering, I’d be seriously interested. Maybe if all the “factory original” purists turn up their noses at it, it will be relisted at a lower price, & I’ll reconsider. (Except that I hate & abhor GB, which is another problem.)
