Does anyone on here recommend or use Old West Snake Oil for long term storage? If not what do you recommend?

Depends upon the length of ‘long term storage’….always wipe guns down with OWSO prior to putting them away but, check them on a regular basis.

A lot will also depend on where in the world your storing your firearms.

If you live in SE AZ your going to be more worried about wood drying out and shrinking then any kind of moisture induced rust.

If you live in New Orleans high humidity and biological will be a big concern.

Seattle a lot of moisture in the air for 2/3’s of the year.

Upper mid west you might have to deal with rapid temperature fluctuations causing metal surfaces to attack moisture.

SO Whats your environment like?

Here in the Willamette Valley in Western Oregon I have had excellent results keeping my firearms in a dry wood heated house in a walk in closet that has very very little temp fluctuation. All I use is the lightest wiped on coat of LSA military weapons oil Vietnam era surplus I think.

Never any rust on any of my rifles even the ones with no bluing left.
