Updating the version of Chrome worked for a member I helped.
Click on the three dots in the upper right; then Settings and then About. Chrome will automatically check for any updates and if there are any, it will do the update. Then clear all browsing data. Close Chrome, reopen and try logging in and viewing the magazine.

The club is currently working to have the magazine viewing function work with all popular web browsers, as it should be. It seems that magazine viewing works for some members with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer, while for some it does not. I’ve been using Google Chrome for a while now and have only had the magazine viewing problem once, and clearing my internet cache seemed to solve it. For others, Chrome does not work. In the meantime, if you can’t view the magazines, you might want to try using a different internet browser, as others have tried and suggested. It’s not the long-term solution, but it may help some of you for now.
Hi Brian,
As Brad mentions above, some browsers work for some people and not for others.
Have you tried Safari on the iPad?
Also, I use Microsoft Edge Chromium on both my PC and iOS devices and they synch bookmarks to each device. I used to be a Chrome user, but the new Edge, which is based on Chrome, is lighter weight on the PC’s CPU and therefore I think it’s a little faster. You can also import your bookmarks from Chrome.

Well it is acting up again for me now. Again I can’t view the magazines. I’ve tried on multiple browsers and computers, with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Maverick

What browsers have you tried?

Suffice to say all of them! Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Apple Safari. Across multiple devices, my home computer, work computer, wife’s computer, iPhone 11, and iPads. None of which show the icon to select the magazine on the main page.
And yes I’ve cleared the browser history, and yes the browsers are up to date with the latest version.
Any other ideas?
Sincerely,
Maverick
P.S. The only way I can get any to be viewable is by searching for a specific magazine i.e. Spring 2020, and then it will popup with the view icon. But this is assuredly not how the website is supposed to work.

Brady,
It is not your specific device, or browser that is causing the problem. Rob Kassab and I did some investigative tests while we were in Cody for the WACA show. We used my laptop (with both the latest updated versions of Google Chrome and MS Edge). Both Rob and I have “Admin” profiles. I logged in with both browsers and tried to access the magazines… No-Go with either one. I then logged out, and Rob logged in with his credentials using my laptop… and it worked perfectly for him! This tells us that something is not correct in the backgrounds settings or permissions (credentials) in my stored profile, and it 99% likely that your profile settings have the same issue as mine. Because you only recently began experiencing access issues, I am quite sure that it happened during the recent upgrade and database migration to the new website operating system software. As soon as Rob gets back home, he will contact our website company and get them started on isolating and resolving the login in credential issue.

Magazine viewing problems are gone! I didn’t have to log on a second (or third time when searching) and was pointed to the correct pages….ahhhh.
It is not working for me… yet. Keep checking it, and I suspect your previous issue will return.

Bert, there may be two issues.
I know they tweaked the code recently and that may have fixed the viewing issue when a regular member accesses it. Note I said “may have” fixed. Keeping my fingers crossed!
The issue that you are having could be unique to the fact that you are an administrator. I spoke to them again yesterday about this.
FYI

Rob,
Thanks for the update. I am still seeing exactly the same thing as what we observed in Cody.

Bert is not the only one. I’m still not able to access the magazines and calendars as it was meant to done. The only way I can get any to be viewable is by searching for a specific magazine i.e. Spring 2020, and then it will popup with the view icon.
But now it puts some kind of odd code around the button. “[ms-protect-content id=”3001,3002,3003,3004,3005,15304,15305,3012,3007,3008,3009,3010,3011”]View Magazine[/ms-protect-content]”
