To All,
I have not been logged into the forum in a few days now. Logged in today and the forum appears quite different than previously.
Is this a new update? Or a temporary fix? Or permanent?
Either way I prefer the aesthetic of the forum previously. This version is hard on the eyes.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Gentlemen,
This is the new format as a result of changing our server provider to a much improved and greater memory space. Additionally, the fellow who is doing the work in the background is much more responsive to making the necessary changes and updates. If you have specific items or issues that you feel will improve the format, please post them here in this topic string, and I will forward a link to our new website management.

I don’t care for it but I find the older I get, the less I like anything new. I’ll get used to it – but not by the end of today.
That’s the way I felt before I left high-school. By then I had two brown ’73s, a refinished & rebored ’86, a rolling block, a cut-down trap-door, a WWII Mauser, & a ’34 Ford coupe missing a few minor parts, like engine & tranny.

Always wanted one of those. Just before I had to leave for oversees duty I found one I could actually afford but couldn’t leave my wife and daughter with no extra money in the bank. A friend just bought a 34 Victoria which I really like.
I wasn’t getting any email updates to posts and see you have to reset your subscriptions with the new forum.

Seems to be a bit “busier” in appearance but that probably means more features. Thanks for the tip about resetting subscription preferences, Bob. Knew something was different but hadn’t figured it out yet.

I’ve been noticing fewer “Guests” online, I’m wondering if the new format has anything to do with that. Maybe the guests are getting memberships but I always felt they were just lurkers who wanted to remain anonymous.

In my humble opinion, it would make things easier to navigate if some of the icons were larger in size.
For instance now on the forum the “Page Up Arrow” or “Go To Top” that is below the “Add Reply” button is much smaller in size.
It used to be equal to or larger than my cursor arrow. It being smaller makes it somewhat harder to click on now.
Sincerely,
Maverick

How about, on the assumption that all here are conversant with the English language, WORDS, not stupid symbols, were used.
I’m confused and perplexed by your last statement. What exactly are you stating or asking about?
The items I’m discussing are purely aesthetic in nature.
Look at the size of my cursor, which is a standard size cursor to the size of this “Top of Page” button indicated by the red arrow.
I’ve got pencil tips with larger points than the icon on the page.
Sincerely,
Maverick

“Icons” of course–the idiotic substitute for LANGUAGE. Look at the instrument panel of any new car. Our “multiculture” has regressed to the preliterate stage of civilization.
Not a fan of the organization. The page is a bit more busy–not easy to view at a glance. Also, the last updated post time is not indicated beyond the date. However, when viewing the forum page on the phone, you can see how many minutes/hours/days since the last post.
Also when viewing on the phone (I-Phone) the icons including the smileys, the posted images, and their thumbnails, are blurry. Some weird header images are also shown viewing by phone.
