I had an old dug relic 1873 barreled action sitting in the corner of my shop and the sign stored away since I didn’t have a mounting bracket… long story short, I took the relic to a friend with the idea of using it as the bracket… he welded the 3/16 steel frame and then tack welded it into the tang… I’m going to split a 73 stock that is short to “complete” the rifle… might even add a rusted tang sight & barrels sights to it for the finishing touch. I’m planning on leaving the rust & patina on the rifle and paint the exposed frame flat black after I dress the weld areas… I’m open to input on it as I do plan to sell it at Cody… sign pic is a stock photo, my sign is nice, but not mint.
I would try to replicate the sign bracket and strategically mount it under the barrel at the end
and let it display itself that way. Great project and I love it!

You have an artist’s eye, Antonio. Alternatively when Ben runs across a rectangular sign this old relic would do a fine job.
