Everyone,
The TULSA Gun Show is not this weekend but the next! Who all is going this Year? My first time to go was last year, it was a lot of fun. Plan on going again to the April show. Never could make it to the November Show, it’s in the middle of hunting season and just can’t get out of the woods to go.
Who all is going? Wouldn’t mind meeting some fellow members. If I can get the chance to, we might need to meet up before or after the show, as its pretty hard to not run around all day looking at all the shiny bluing. If you pass up the black plastic, you can really see quite a bit, I kinda wish they made all the new firearms dealers go to one end of the building, but oh well.
Bob
Are you going to this one?
Sincerely,
Brady

Had a good time at Tulsa and meet a few forum members. Enjoyed talking with Chris (1892takedown) again. Bought a 73 in 38 WCF that had a Sidle scope put on it and does not letter with it but I figure it will be a hoot to play with. Brent Wilburn made me a good deal on it. Once I get it sighted in and see what it can do and I’ll post back.

Nice score on the 1873 in 38WCF, Bob! With the scope, loading tool and mould it is truly a comprehensive and interesting piece of history. Congrats.

Hey Bob,
You bought that WEAVER replacement scope for it yet? Or did you decide to go with the Leupold?
Sincerely,
Brady
P.S. I would have chatted you up some, had I known it was you!

Brady,
I’m waiting to see which scopes go on sale at Cabela’s. For a big show we all seem to stumble across each other. That has me thinking, We need to have a way to recognize other WACA members at shows. I’m thinking a some kind of pin. Next show you know where to find me.

Bob,
I find myself having a good laugh at the experience. The funniest part being the fact that I know that I bumped into you again later on down the row. I kept walking looking at the various tools throughout the show and I always have a habit to pick up a tool and flip it over to see if there are any other markings on the other side. When I first bumped into you I was admiring Brent’s Tools and just happen to pickup the set he sold you (or was in the process of selling you). Then not long after I come to another table and see a nice 38wcf mold sitting on it thinking its for sale, only to realize I had just seen it a moment before. With over 4,000 tables it is easy to get turned around at the show. I spoke with Brent on Sunday for a good while, he’s sold me a few tools in the past. He seems like a real nice guy, at least he always has been when I’ve dealt with him.
I bet you were wondering, who the hell is this guy following me around.
Next time I’m at the show I’ll properly introduce myself. I kept thinking to myself that guy’s voice sounded familiar. Maybe I aught to wear my 10 gallon cowboy hat to the show with a WACA sticker plastered in the middle of it.
Sincerely,
Brady

Was thinking about you Maverick every time I saw a loading tool on a table. And there are a couple guys, including you Bob, that Im gonna have to find early on in the show and track where you go to find the rare stuff or the good deals–ha. Kind of like tacking that fishing guide to learn where the good fishing holes are. Have to say there is always a good selection of guns and stuff to mull over, and finding that gem for the right price, but the best part about it is meeting new folks, catching up with friends, and learning something new.
Really looking forward to seeing how well that old scope on that 73 works.

I always like Tulsa as a buying show since there is so many guns and a wide variety of sellers. From dealers to mom and pop selling their guns. I never go there saying I’m looking of a specific gun, I will know when I see it. Years ago I bought a 1 of 1000 at a reasonable price and I wasn’t looking for one.

Well I sighted it in down in the basement tonight and it looks promising. I shot it at 20 yards setting on my shooting rest which is kind of a cheap one and I’m seeing a vertical pattern to it, about a 9/16″ spread. It has a plain trigger and has a fairly heavy pull to it. A set trigger would help it a lot and when I try it outside when it warms up I will borrow my brother lead sled.
