Hi, everyone! I know we’re all enthusiastic about collecting rifles and hunting, but aside from that, I’m sure some of us have our own furry companions at home. I created this thread for us to show off our fun cuddly critters. Mine is a Pomeranian named Billy. That fella loves to play with the kids, fancy a walk in the park, and even hitch a ride in our car (we have to secure him in a dog crate during lengthy travels, as he loves to jump on my lap while I drive). He’s been with us for years and has been a real part of the family. How about your pets, fellas?

Here’s my little hunting co pilot.  Winnie…She was just about 7 months old her first day out.  She retrieved 5 out of 6 birds by herself!  OpeningDayOct2017.jpgImage Enlarger

Not a good photo of her, but the best we get today.

This little girl is the sweetest, most innocent critter my wife and I have had in the past 3 1/2 decades.  Opie was always clean and smelled nice–cuddly too.  We took her in when she was tiny–fed her from an eye-dropper.  She lived three years.  She would huff and puff about the house at night, sounding as if she were a small steam engine.  Nearly every night, she raided my wife’s nylon/slip basket.  Clothes were chosen and wrapped in her tail.  Then she would puff over to the dresser to crawl under it and build a nest.  She preferred the litter box for her business, until I brought home a cat from elk hunting–someone dumped it in the woods.  Then Opie began urinating on the tiles under the oven, so she was moved out to the chicken/pheasant pen.  As long as the birds stayed on their roosts, they were safe.  Opie slept through the day.  Good relationship in that pen.  We had her for three years.  The photo shows the only time she lost her temper.  Whew!
