To all,
It has been brought to my attention that a new WACA website user “Garrett Hedlund” is a Scammer. He is falsely offering items through a pseudonym email address “[email protected]”. Do not contact him or attempt to purchase anything he offers. I have put a “Restricted” status on his newly created WACA website account.

I would be willing to bet that “Garrett” and “Riley” are one and the same person.
No doubt! What I meant was, the “Garrett” pseudonym who sent the PM was presenting himself as a disinterested party with nothing personal to gain. I was a willing sucker, thinking I had the chance to acquire a hard to find catalog.
Google [email protected] and you will see he/she is pulling the same scam on other boards, including cycling and ukulele sites.
Thank you Bert for blocking this leech.
I call myself a collector as it sounds better than hoarder
[email protected] are also fake PayPal accounts from this person. He goes the extra mile with the phrase he uses under his name. Another red flag missed.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Rick, actually that alone isn’t the red flag you might think, as similar biblical quotations are often attached to signature lines on many gun boards (esp. S&W, for some reason). In fact, he probably conceived this ploy by observing how commonly it was used on gun boards.
I recommend reporting this incident to the administrators or support team of the WACA website. They can investigate the situation further and take necessary actions, such as permanently banning the user and implementing additional security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

You are more than 1-year late on that recommendation… I took care of it in March of 2022.

There are definitely good lessons to be learned in this thread – good reminders. One additional lesson for me was to check the dates when I open a topic. I didn’t on this one and as I read through it, I thought it had all just happened. I will say it seemed odd that a guest would join us and his very first post (and only post) is to pull up a thread over a year old?

That part of it, pulling up the old thread, is not rare. Why someone with a question wouldn’t start a new discussion, I don’t understand, but it happens fairly often.

I often see that too, but in most cases it is specific to specific rifles, technical issues and that topic type area. It just struck me as odd as no new information was provided or question asked.
