Thanks in advance for any information you can offer. I have tried in vain to determine the year of manufacture of this 44-40 caliber rifle. The serial number isn’t anywhere close to any listed on the Winchester website.

That is not a serial number from a original production 1873. Email me some photos of the serial number and any other markings on the gun.
