Question on the 1895 receiver sight. For those who own a 95 with a receiver sight, excluding the Lyman #21 and #38, I’m interested in finding out more information as to the proper installation of the Lyman #41WR coded receiver sight. A friend has one with a Lyman #41SL code that has the flat mounting bracket that would better fit a flat side and not the latter more common scalloped sided model 95. As Moderator/Member Brad Dunbar pointed out with his Lyman pamphlet the #41SL was specifically made for the flat sided model 10,(1910 auto loader). My fiend has a model 95 with the #41SL code mounted on it and would like to replace it with a proper #41WR code, which according to stroebel was later mfg. for the scalloped sided model 1895, that would fit properly. The flat sided #41SL would need to be fit with spacers of some kind or just left naked as far as the screws are concerned, and no spacers or washers added. What do you have in this instance or situation? I don’t have the 1895 book and I’m not sure if it even covers this in it. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Anthony
