Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a Model 94 chambered in .32WS. Overall it appears to be a well kept rifle, however I’m not very knowledgeable about these old lever actions. I would like to find out what I have here, it has several different stamps and markings. S/N reads 285731. If anyone could point me in the right direction for some more info that would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
Hello Jared,
The serial number identifies it as a late 1905 production Model 1894. Winchester introduced the 32 W.S. cartridge in October 1901. The Cody Firearms Museum (CFM) records office can (for a moderate fee) provide you with a Factory letter that will provide all of the information originally recorded in the Winchester ledger records for the serial number on your Winchester.
To assist you further, we will need to see pictures of the gun. You can post a URL to pictures loaded on a photo host website, or send them directly to me.

Thanks for the info Bert! I’ve emailed you some pics of the rifle. What does a gun like that typically sell for? I don’t really have any plans to keep it, just wanted to find out more about the gun to price it correctly.
