To All,
Was wondering if anyone here knew / knows a “Henry J. Gier”, a collector in southern California?
Believe he collected Reloading Tools, as well as various Winchesters. Any info would be most appreciated.

Maverick I don’t recognize the name but I will ask around. On Tuesday I will be able to go to the nearest of the various Auction houses.

Well my fellow collector friend Tom Quigley was able to shed some light on Mr. Gier. He was part of a group of Southern California collectors known as the “Big 9”, and was a mentor to the late Dick Chamberlain. One of Dick’s early writings is dedicated to him.
I may find out more in the future, but the mystery is solved.

If you find anything else, I’d appreciate it. It would be interesting to know who the rest of the “Big 9” were. At the very least it sounds somewhat ominous, like members of the Mob or something!
