My current gun safe is not goldenrod compatible. The silicon rechargeable device work pretty well. I have noticed during very hot/humid period that the floor liner gets damp. My fear is the butt plates rusting of course. Not an Issue yet. Haven’t ever even noticed condensation on the barrels. Any suggestions for a open cell or other type liner as a barrier from the butt stock to floor liner?? Thanks!!
If your floor is getting damp there is too much humidity in there and you are going to have to use lots desiccant to remove the moisture and keep replacing it with dry desiccant. A golden rod can’t remove moisture. I put a seal on the door of my gun safe, put a golden rod in it and have desiccant in there as well. I would not store guns in there until you get it under control.

What Room of your house is the safe in? Is that room Air Conditioned? Or do you simply have the safe in the garage, or where?
And what part of the country do you live in?

I once had a safe in a room where the concrete floor got damp at times. If you cannot move the safe you can put a couple of 2X4’s under it to create airspace/circulation and insulate the safe from the floor.

Hmmm, I think that’s the issue. To answer both replies, the room has no A/C, so the floor is colder than the rest of the room – there must be condensation forming. Never noticed any dampness on the barrels, etc. just the floor liner. Fortunately it’s my “annex’ safe at my weekend home in the Pa. mountains were I store only some SS Composite Stock Hunting rifles and a shooter grade M94 and M43.
I would move the Safe to a Air Conditioned space and/or put something underneath the safe. Most people don’t know or understand that majority of concrete is not waterproof. Therefore water vapor can travel through it and temperature differentials cause concrete to sweat. This is especially true for concrete that has no vapor barrier underneath it. Also not uncommon for concrete to have plenty of moisture in it anyway, even after it has cured. PA is also a fairly moist state to live, being so close to the coast.
Just move to Arizona! That’ll solve your moisture problems.
Sincerely,
Maverick
