I know how many guns I have. To some folks it’s a sinister arsenal and to others it’s a starter kit. I keep that number to myself because it’s nobody’s business. Besides I may miss one and hurt it’s feelings. Guns can be funny about that sometimes, no sense in risking it!

My other half doesn’t care a bit. As long as I work on things around the house, the bills are paid and her card works when she wants to buy something. She has no idea what I have. She doesn’t care.luckily the things she likes are cheaper than the things I like.

I’m a confirmed bachelor but I tell my novice collector friends to keep an old gun case in the car. In my situation it gives protection to the poor little orphan who has decided to follow me home. For married guys’ wives it’s just an old gun case. In the wise words of Bear Claw “an elk doesn’t know how many legs a horse has!”

Many WACA members have heard this before – my wife gave me this decent little 66 SRC for Christmas about 30 years ago. She had some help with selection from my old friend Tommy Rholes. When I was tucking old Winchester levers she always supported me.

In a way my wife bought my Henry. I told her if she re did the recent re do of our kitchen I would buy a Henry.
