Since long time we plan to visit the USA. Now we do it. At first me and my wife fly to Boston and visit the City until 7/5. Then we have a rental car and drive through Maine. At July 11 we fly to Denver and drive to Cody at the 12. Then we visit the WACA show and the Museum until July 15. Then we have time until the July 25 to visit Yellowstone, Little big horn and some other places.

I ask the same question some years ago and get some good advices. Unfortunately the older posts are deleted. So i must ask again: Do someone have some hints for places to stay and to look?

Greetings from Germany

Steff

PS: Please excuse my horrible english

The museum is incredible. Plan on spending at least 2 days to see everything.

I enjoyed the Norris geyser basin in Yellowstone Park even more than Old Faithful. There is also a hotel in Cody that was once owned by Buffalo Bill (I think, if I recall correctly). I had breakfast in the hotel one morning and enjoyed just being there.

The name of the hotel is the Irma Hotel. Went there a couple years ago and they had an old west shootout in the street.

Finally i found time to report my impressions. Our USA holiday was simply fantastic. My greatest respect by the perfect organization in your country – and this is really a great compliment from a German ;-). I am very impressed with your kitchen. I have always eaten very well in the four weeks. All the people we met were extremely nice and helpful to us. I’ve been on the show Cody met very nice people and gotten a few rare spare parts for my guns. The museum was incredible. We were also lucky to see the rodeo on the Casper County fair and in Cody. We also had luck in Yellowstone grizzlies and black bears to see and of course lots of buffalo. The battlefield of little big horn was also very interesting. I also love the little cowboy towns in Wyoming and South Dacota. The historical awareness is impressive. Every few miles is a ineresting historic site and every town have a museum. And all of them have guns :-).

Thank you very much for this great holiday

Steff
