So,
As a few of you already know, my and my fiancee are proud new parents to a little girl who was born on March 23, 2014. Our first. The wee one doesn’t know it yet, but she is going to be a Winchester collector. I was going to say of the Model 1894, but I may leave that part up to her 8)
Just thought I would show a photo of the new collector. Yes, like us all, she will have a lot to learn, but may as well start young. This is the reason I’ve been so tired the last 2 weeks, but at the same time, am not at work for a few more weeks and get to be on here a bit more often!

I am sure there is some resemblance to "Annie Oakley". Welcome to world of collecting. Congrats MattBruce
Thanks Bruce. Funny you mention that, I was just sitting here thinking the 1892 might be a perfect gun for her, nice and light and fun to shoot too. She’ll probably put me to shame in that department.

I saw your news on the GunBroker–Missing thread. While I was on my way to this one, I thought as the others here have said, that your daughter may favor the ’92’s. My wife and I have three sons, all now married. The young men and I prefer the ’94’s, but our daughters-in-law keep me quite busy, reloading ’92 cartridges.
Such a precious one, Matt. May the three of you find wonder and joy in growing together.
Thanks guys 🙂
Did pretty good last night, almost a solid 5 hours of sleep!!
I was thinking about her and the 1892s. Further to what Bruce was saying – and a comment I had from Roadking – if she wants to be Annie Oakley…yes, you can see where this is going…I may have to invest in a starter Marlin for her… 😯 I guess that wouldn’t be the end of the world, those old Marlins are fine guns. I know Roadking would agree. I may have to keep my mind more open when looking for that starter gun for her, though that is still some time away.
