Finally got the Cody letter on this rifle and it is listed as a carbine and no mention of a rifle stock. Since its just one of my shooters, I’ll leave it as-is.

I watch a lot of the old serial westerns on TV and have noticed several 1892 carbines with a crescent butt plates lately,
always thought they were a rarity ? only seen 1 in real life

I have had several 92 carbines which had a rifle butt and lettered that way – attached is an example which also had a pistol grip – mine always had walnut – maybe they used the better wood if there were special order features?
