Recently picked up a beautiful rifle with a little handling wear. Very clean. Hornady has dropped their .348 line of bullets and Barnes
only makes a limited run. Bullets available from Hawk Bullets in New Jesey. Would be interested in getting a mold. Does anyone have any suggestion.
Lyman, Saeco Lee have all discontinued their molds
Thanks

Welcome, Joel. A few years ago I picked up a few boxes of recent manufacture Winchester ammo. I don’t know if they’ll ever get caught up enough to make it again but you may find some if you’re lucky. I’m pretty sure Accurate will make a mould for you.

I don’t find these priced excessively (comparatively). For comparison, I just checked ammoseek this morning and the cheapest box of Remington or Federal .32 Special was $70. This same outfit – Grayback – has .32 Special for $65.
On the topic of the .348, anyone ever hunt with the 150 grain loads? I’ve always heard to avoid them (poor sectional densitiy). But, Winchester did make them and they must have seen use.
All I have seen and used are the 200 grain bullets.
As well as the 150 grain bullets there were 250 grain bullets.I believe Barnes makes a .348 250 grain bullet, but I know of no one making a 150 grainer.Like you, I to wonder just how good or bad the 150 grain bullets were.Should work on a deer I would think.
