Just putting it out there since I was able to score all four inserts for the 105A pretty quickly, you never know. I do have an extra 105A if anybody needs one.

Hi Steve,

What specific parts of the 88A do you need?

Thanks Jeff, I’ll let you know as soon as I get the 74 that was posted last week or so. I made an offer and Rob took it, waiting for it to ship.

Congrats!  Since it was that one I know from the photos which parts you need and I don’t have those, sorry.  I think I have a spare base and the elevation arm but no pointers, screws or thumb-nuts (the commonly missing parts).

Speaking of sights. I have that M48 I said I would give you, also the original Cody letter for the M1885 22. All you need to do is stop by on your way to Cody and bring some donuts. You may also buy some guns to take with you. I’ve sold many lately.     Big Larry

No, sorry, I don’t know the threads on that sight.  It was made by Winchester so it will be odd.  I will see if I have one handy that I can measure for you today.

Awesome thx. I have to get the old one out first. I cleaned it up, but I think I am going to use a left hand bit to extract it. I guess I can retap it to something common.

Steve, it may be a common pitch but Winchester made their sight screws in house and many of them were odd/proprietary threads.

I am headed to the shop now to measure for you.

Steve,

As I suspected it is an odd, proprietary thread on that little bugger but it is very close to 1-72.

The 1-72 is a standard size-pitch screw and is readily available.  It threaded into my sight base 2-3 threads before resistance.  Since the screw is very short anyway that may work for you.  I get my screws from Brownell’s but if they are out of stock of the 1-72 just let me know and I will mail you one.

Do you have the sheet steel elevation pointer?

Best Regards,

I believe I have everything less that screw. I have to extract the broken screw from the bolt and then put it all back together. If you would mail me one that would be awesome, I’ll PM you the address. THX!

No worries, happy to mail you one.

Do you want me to cut it to length and dress the head to match the original or do you want to take care of that?

Please. I’m sure your skills exceed mine, esp with a screw that small.
