Don’t know if this is the context you’re referring to, but to ‘bump’ up an item/post on an Internet forum means to bring it to the top of the page….

Suspect this is what it means, especially if it refers to some item listed in the “for sale” section that many forums have. If the latter, it probably also means the item was priced too high originally.

It is exactly as Ted describes. If an item doesn’t sell before it gets buried in the pages, if you reply to it with bump it will bring it back to the top for first place viewing again.

Many forums and for sale sites have a time limit on bumps, for example you can only bump the item every 7 days. This is so that you aren’t bumping it constantly to keep it at the top of the page.
I agree, this forum is by far one of my favs!!
