This is the third of three rifles I will post for sale:
1873 – first model, octagon barrel, 44-40, serial 19,959
This rifle is in great condition for a first model. Lots of blue and case color.
I am certainly not a pro photographer but tried to highlight each area of each rifle in natural light. I am happy to jump on a video call with anyone interested to get into further details. All rifles have their birth certificate and are above average to excellent quality. I am not qualified to rate the bluing but know it is higher end for each of the generations. The wood is excellent in quality and fit. The barrels are very clean.
A price is not listed at this point because I honestly have no idea what the market is. With your knowledge, I would appreciate an honest estimate and price that would be good for both parties if you are interested in this for your collection.
Please PM or respond to this message with any questions.
I have done a bit of my own research along with advice from this forum and would like to ask $13,000. If you do not like my number, please PM me with yours. I have always believed in discounts for multiple purchases and if someone wants all three, that saves me a bit of work and I would be open to even further discounts. As I mentioned, would love these to go to a good collector home.
I will also work to get better shots in shade. I thought showing them in the light would be more accurate and I am certainly not trying to hide anything.
I am determined to get better shots with lower glare – thank you Bob for your suggestions. We finally had a cloudy day so here goes again.
If there are any concerns over my pricing, please contact me anyway with your valuation if you are interested in purchasing. As I mentioned, I am going with just a little research and respect that I could be off.
FYI – I have a reasonable offer from a dealer for all three rifles and it would be easy to offload all three at one location. It is not what they are worth but reasonable for a dealer. I would much prefer this go to a collector which is why I am here.
