Does anyone have any information on this sight. I’m aware of only 2 1886’s with this rear sight. Both are 45-90 TDs and were mfg in 1895 and only 179 apart in serial number. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I remember this sight being discussed here once before.  Without knowing the name of it, conducting a search for that previous post would be difficult.  Maybe someone else has a better memory than myself.

I don’t recall having ever seen it before. Most certainly RARE as far as sights go.

I was the one with that old post, I have a 1894 shipped early January 1895 with that sight

Do you know if it’s a Winchester sight (prototype?), or who made it? It’s certainly a piece of art as far as sights go. Thanks!

I do remember this.  Very cool and interesting sight.  What does the factory ledger say about this sight on your M1894?
