Hi all…

My first posting.

I have a Winchester model 64 in  .32WS that was manufactured in 1935.

It’s been in my family since it was new.

Would like to put a peep sight on it, but it MUST REMAIN “vintage”.

So, I can not/will not do any modifications to my Great great grandfathers rifle.

It looks like there are two screws on the left side of the receiver for a peep sight.

What I would like to know is, which sights would fit the goal?

There seems to be a lot of information out there that contradicts each other…

Please help.

Also if you have one for sale, add that info. Thanks

Lyman 56 & 66 sights fit any flat-sided rcvr.  Of course, a tang sight will also work.  Presume you wish to shoot it, but since you say “no modifications,” have you considered you’ll need to remove rear sight for best results?

Thanks for the info Clarence.

I could have explained “no modifications” better. (No drilling and tapping.)

I just want to put a peep sight on it that would have been available at the time it was manufactured. (1935)

Something my G.G. grandfather had available to him wen he got the rifle.

Scott,

The correct sight for a 1935 production Model 64 is a Lyman No. 56 receiver sight, or a Lyman No. 1A (DA) tang sight.
