I suppose it depends on where you sell. I suspect it would be very difficult to get anything close to that price for a reblued Model 25 at a gunshow. Even with the short barrel.
I am seeing more and more inexplicable auction prices on gunbroker. Stepping out of the Winchester genre for a moment, here is a Remington M81 that sold recently. I would say it was worth at most, one-fourth of what it sold for. It is the later clubby Remington autoloader vs. the earlier or more elegant M08. Note that it is far from mint. The wood has various scrapes and look at the lower tang with the gouges and and odd-ball Phillips head screw. Maybe the stock is worth more now given the high cost of 2×4’s?
