As a guest user looked at all the 12 .ga 1897 forum post and did not see clear direction on my ’97. Its mfg date was 1916.
Its been in back of safe for 25 years. Bought it from class 3 dealer who took it in trade from LEO. He was very specific that it was a excellent example and to not let it go.
Serial# E635091 Barrel has oval wp cartouche and oval p cartouche. The receiver has wp cartouche mark. The original choke size is x’d out and CYL. stamped on LS of barrel. It has no bomb with flame mark on it or any u.s. stamps. Its some where around 95%-98% and a excellent or higher NRA rating. 20 inch barrel with bead. From what i have researched its not a parts gun or replica. The action is tight and the blue on the bolt face has little to no wear. The action and slide are in almost new condition as well.
Have looked at all the junk at the gun shows last few years. Have never seen one at guns shows in this good of shape. I’m in Phoenix area and need to verify what it is and value.
Can anyone help me out or point me in right direction to confirm its identity and value.
Thank you,
jim
