In U.S. Winchester Trench and Riot Guns by Joe Poyer he says that 9,300 Win Model 25 riot shotguns were purchased by the Defense Dept in 1954.  Serial number range 64069 to 73405.  Evidently around 2,000 were found in Viet Nam and were inspected by Australian Collector Arms in the 1980’s and 1990’s.  These had unit and rack numbers painted on the stocks.

Combat Shotguns by Canfield states that 5,400 Model 37 shotguns were purchased from Winchester between 1941 and 1942.  A small amount of Model 24’s  were also purchased.
